Our client is seeking a Core Systems Engineer to work in a fast-paced environment with cutting-edge technologies. The Core Systems Engineer will work independently and with Account Managers and engineers to plan, design, deploy, operate, and optimize IT environments.

The client will consider candidates with a strong mix of any of the following skillsets – VMware, SAN storage, Exchange Servers, Citrix, and MS Servers (2008/2008R2, 2012/2012R2).

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Overall accountability for project execution for assigned projects.
  • Act as the principal technical contact for strategic clients. Proactively maintain the technical aspects of the client's corporate network.
  • Plan and implement future IT initiatives and undertake corresponding project work.
  • Direct the implementation and integration of new technologies.
  • Perform network design analysis and configuration validation.
  • Serve as a senior level resource to troubleshoot and diagnose client's IT problems.
  • Work closely with account managers to develop, design, refine and present proposals to clients and potential clients.
  • Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve network, system, and performance issues.
  • Ensure compliance to client best practices and standard build guidelines and participate in corrective actions as required.
  • Monitor, examine, and stay abreast of current trends in technology by researching, identifying, and evaluating new IT related products and services. Ensure others are aware of trends and opportunities to leverage new technology.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in two or more assigned technologies.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to SE resources to increase skills.
  • Review and critique proposed changes to SE standards and best practices guidelines.
  • Review assigned network documentation for compliance to client standards.
  • Meet and comply with all company policies, guidelines, and requirements regarding security compliance.
  • Perform other tasks in response to daily business needs and as directed.

Minimum Experience & Training:
  • Active Directory, Exchange, and Terminal Services technologies,
  • Familiarity of SAN storage solutions is required,
  • Understanding of VMWare virtualization technology and Citrix is required,
  • A valid Microsoft certification (MCP, MCSA, MCSE) is strongly preferred,
  • A+ or Network+ certification preferred,
  • Demonstrated experience with the installation and maintenance of network systems
