Application Lead

Primary Responsibilities
  • Directing a team of resources comprised of our client's employees and on-/off-shore suppliers in day-to-day monitoring, supporting, maintaining and enhancing a set of application systems
  • Managing third level support where the Global Service Desk and Level Two team is unable to solve the end user(s) problems
  • Works with business relationship managers and on/off-shore suppliers to prioritize, plan and schedule maintenance and enhancement requests and releases for implementation on-time, on-budget and with little interruption to the business
  • Support the selection/development and implementation of innovative, technology-based solutions that will result in a reliable, flexible, coherent and cost-effective global infrastructure for the benefit of all client's businesses worldwide
  • Organize and lead internal and external resources to solve the technical challenges of a software project including the overall architecture of the desired system
  • Ensure compliance with various Information Security, Compliance, Legal and/or regulatory requirements as applicable for both in house and SAAS applications
  • Meet the Data Integrity, Process, Technology, Audit & Security architecture requirements of the company and ensure that software is developed per the software development standards established by the IT organization
  • Collaborate with the BRM and ADM teams to research third party products and solutions, and bring innovative, value-enriching technology-based solutions to client
  • Document service infractions and Service Level Agreement (SLA) violations and work with Vendors to remediate and resolve issues

  • High- and low-level design documents and technical specifications for development and enhancement work efforts
  • Problem Management & Root cause analyses
  • Service level standards, metrics and reports
  • Software maintenance and enhancements releases, documentation, test plans and test results and audit reports
Requirements
  • BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering/Science, or foreign equivalent
  • Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in a technology role
  • Three years in a lead role
Technology Experience
  • Java, RESTful web services, Spring, Struts, Hibernate
  • Frameworks: Spring, Java EE
  • Software development languages: Java, JavaScript, XML, HTML, PL/SQL
  • Database: Oracle 11g, MySQL (Experience with database design and development is a plus)
  • Web 2.0 technologies, architectural patterns, design patterns, JEE framework and other related frameworks as related to industry best practices for software development,
  • Ability to interface with other technical leads/developers to perform design and code walkthroughs.
  • Experience with agile development and continuous integration
  • Strong advocate of test first development and depth of experience with unit test frameworks
