Project Overview
The primary objective of this contract work is to provide technical support for Maximo (version, which is the District's enterprise Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Maximo generates and tracks all assets and work orders (Preventive, Corrective, and Emergency Maintenance) for five program areas, including: Water Utility, Watersheds / Vegetation Management, Water Supply, Facilities, and Fleet.
Desirable Experience and Expertise for The Project
  1. Two (2) to four (4) years' experience administering the Maximo application and database, including making system configurations, implementing performance improvements, troubleshooting system errors, managing security, and developing integrations.
  2. Ability to provide technical support to business users of Maximo and to help create, edit, and troubleshoot Work Orders, Job Plans, Preventative Maintenance (PM) templates and schedules, Service Requests, Assets, Locations, and user queries and reports.
  3. Experience using JavaScript, BIRT/QBR, SQL, PL-SQL, XML, HTML to create and test reports.
  4. Experience administering integrations with other systems such as the enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Fuel Master, and others.
  5. Ability to perform analysis of existing business processes and make recommendations on alternatives to leverage Maximo functionalities and system performance.
This Contractor assignment consists of, but is not limited to, the following areas:
  1. Provide onsite technical support to approximately 200 Maximo business users.
  2. Work with business users to evaluate requirements and develop technical solutions.
  3. Help resolve system and data issues related to assets, locations, classifications, job plans, work orders, reports, and queries.
  4. Work directly with business users to develop ad-hoc queries and reports.
  5. Develop integrations with internal and external systems.
  6. Support, troubleshoot, modify existing custom interfaces/integrations, developed in various technologies.
  7. Design, develop, test, debug, and deploy customizations and interface configurations to meet business needs.
  8. Develop complex processes and reports using SQL, Eclipse and/or BIRT.
The Contractor will be expected to be on site and interact with the SCVWD staff/stakeholders at regular meetings; remaining responsive to the suggestions, concerns and changing needs of the staff; and, cooperatively supporting staff.
Typical tasks include resolving system issues related to data integrity for Assets, Locations, Classifications, Job Plans, Work Orders, Reports, and Queries and working directly with business users to help with common tasks such as writing Work Orders, configuring Start Centers, developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), querying, and reporting.
