Responsibilities: Client is seeking a Network Administrator with a strong support and troubleshooting background to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in RALEIGH, NC. This is an on-site position with no telecommute possibilities. This position is part of the Northrop Grumman's ETS Contract with the United States Postal Service, bringing top of the line professional technologists to their teams. This individual shall independently perform enterprise-level network troubleshooting, propose enhancements to improve performance and reduce costs of maintaining a compliant network. They shall work independently or semi-independently with a minimum of guidance or direction. Roles and Responsibilities include, but not limited to: o Assisting customers to troubleshoot Network layer 2 and layer 3 issues including recognizing need to escalate issues. o Coordinate with remote users to install/configure equipment on site. o Installation and configuration of Cisco network equipment, both remote and on site. o Remote troubleshooting of sites after hours as needed. o Follow ServiceNow and other incidents to closure. o Develop and review documents for overall design and configuration of network and core switches. o Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment. o Occasional work on-call and after hour support. o This position will require occasional short travel periods, up to 25%. Please confirm ALL resources have been in the US for at least 5 years and have not been out of the country for more than 6 months or more (total) in the last 5 years. o Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of Degree. o Minimum 7 years of applicable networking experience. o Excellent Networking troubleshooting skills. o Knowledge and experience with QOS o Knowledge and experience with Spanning Tree and other networking protocols. o Past experience working with customers remotely and over the phone to assist with network troubleshooting and ability to escalate issues as needed. o Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint and Visio. o Ability to change physical locations based upon need (walking in and between buildings outside). o Ability to move objects from one location to another including routinely lifting and moving computer equipment. o Willing to work occasional on-call and after hours support rotation. o Willing to travel up to 25% for occasional short term assignments. Preferred Qualifications: o Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or associated discipline. o CCNA, CCNP or other appropriate certifications. o Local to the Raleigh, NC area, this position does not provide relocation assistance.
