Description:

Identifies and develops internal areas of opportunities through the DMAIIC methodology and tools of Excellency in processes with the purpose of reducing the manufacturing cost of the new products prior to product launch and continue with the culture of continuous improvement comprehended in the strategy of BWI.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under (e.g. limited supervision, general direction, etc.) and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Pharmaceutical, procedures and guidelines, this position:
 Identifies, designs and develops the necessary equipment related to new product development.
 Performs material tests.
 Studies the existing processes to implement improvements on new products.
 Responsible for preparing and managing specifications.
 Assists technicians and engineers about unusual problems. Responsible for purchasing and designing.
equipment that meets safety and environment requirements.
 Performs activities of process/product validation.
 RESPONSIBILITIES OF NPD ENGINEERS 1 AND 2: Can supervise, coordinate and technically revise the work of a limited group of technicians. Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
 Responsible for ensuring subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition.
 Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
 Performs other duties assigned as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
 Engineering, any specialty.
 Masters in Science is recommendable.
 5 to 9 years in a similar position, preferably.
 Experience in the medical industry, preferably.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES and CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
 Knowledge of good manufacturing practices and documentation, preferably in the medical industry.
 Experiment design.
 SPC knowledge.
 Management of statistical procedures.
 Knowledge of computer programs..

 NPD Engineer Senior and Staff: Knowledge of productive processes.
 NPD Engineer Staff: Experimental Engineering techniques, 80% English


ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
 This position will be performed in a clean room production controlled environment and office areas.
 Must be capable of standing for moderate periods of time and sit on a desk in front of a computer.
 Regular use of clean room tools, as well as office tools, necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR OTHERS (If applicable)
 This position reports to the NPD Engineering Manager, Principal Engineer or Director
 Staff NPD engineer may have NPD Technicians and Production Support Technicians as subordinates

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS / REQUIREMENTS
 This position will be performed in a clean room production controlled environment and office areas.

LOCATION & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Location: Irwindale, Ca, USA.
Travel: This position travels infrequently, but should be prepared for extended stay assignments if required
