Pharmacy Warehouse Worker - SCAL
Job Summary:
Under immediate supervision, order, receive and store supplies; receive and process invoices for payment. Provide general clerical support to the department; answer telephones and take messages.

Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Order filling, receiving and other related pharmaceutical warehousing duties.

Automated System: File and maintain data entry forms. Forward documents to data entry. Maintain and update automated system, cardex and department records. Notify appropriate personnel of output discrepancies. Verify correctness of input and output materials.

Mail: Collect, sort and deliver U.S. and interoffice mail within the medical center and outlying clinics. Prepare packages and lab specimens for mail/shipment. Prepare outgoing mail. Research identifiable mail and reroute.
File Management (NonMedical Records): Box and label documents. Expedite file requests. Maintain department logs. Organize and maintain department files, records, handbooks and manuals. Record and maintain activity logs, re-file returned documents, and remove deactivated files for storage.

Accounting: Arrange method of payment for services rendered. Maintain/ Replenish petty cash fund. Post miscellaneous cash payments to accounting logs. Prepare payment documents. Receive, verify and process invoices for payment. Review incoming invoices and payment request documents for approval authority; return unauthorized documents. Review and match documents for payment. Research P.O. payment/billing problems (for example, non-payment, duplicate payment, overpayments). Verify amounts for payment.

Ordering and Stocking: Contact vendors on order status and delivery discrepancies. Maintain reference files, directories and vendor catalogues. Maintain files on requisitions. Order and maintain office supplies. Order medical supplies and equipment. Place phone orders with vendors. Prepare requisitions or purchase orders to order non-medical materials and supplies. Receive and review requisitions for accuracy and completeness. Fill orders for supplies and equipment. Maintain daily receiving logs. Prepare packages for shipment. Process stock returns to vendor. Provide information on status of material ordered. Receive and sign for supplies and equipment deliveries.
Reconcile delivery and receiving discrepancies. Resolve vendor problems. Unpack and store supplies and equipment deliveries. Inventory supplies and equipment. Maintain inventory counts. Maintain receiving and storage records and files. Replace lost or damaged parts. Replenish supplies including towels. Prepare requisitions to order supplies and equipment.

Distribution: Receive, store and distribute materials and supplies. Receive and verify inventory of supplies. Wrap, package and label printed materials for delivery. Deliver and pick up supplies (including medical), carts and equipment. Load and transport mail, specimens, supplies or instruments. Maintain delivery and vehicle records. Sort and distribute incoming mail.

Equipment: Clear paper jams and performs routine maintenance. Maintain records of machine/equipment use. Operate copier equipment. Record equipment malfunctions and request repair service for equipment.

General Office: Assist with computation of time card. Recap hours worked on department timesheets. Prepare time cards and time card reports. Compose memos, copy type from written drafts, edit and correct typed material. Maintain supervisor's calendar. Provide typing support for the department. Format and type narrative correspondence and reports. Type statistical data and reports, check request, materials requisitions, and other forms, labels, envelopes and file folder tables. Type and distribute meeting notices and agendas.

Administrative and other: Serve as resource person to co-workers by answering procedure questions and assisting in problem solving. Perform other activities and responsibilities from time to time. Assume other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed.

Minimum Education:
• High School diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications:
• May require valid California Driver's License
• Ability to read, understand, and record pharmaceutical information such as drug names, dosage forms, drug strengths, lot numbers, expiration dates, and storage requirements onto drug issue slips and logs.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations such as drug repackaging principles, picking, batching, palletizing, and transporting merchandise to truck loading sites.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics (add/subtract/multiply/divide).
• Ability to continuously lift packages of up to 50lbs weight.
• Good verbal and written English-speaking communication skills.
• Must be able to pass DEA clearance.
• Good past/present attendance record.
