Description:
Keeps abreast of and applies GAAP, SEC regulations, and relative company policies, practices and procedures. Assists in researching, analyzing and reporting on issues that affect the company, making recommendations for solutions, and following through to resolution. Assures accounting integrity of corporate financial data through the implementation of appropriate internal controls. Prepares financial reports in a timely manner that are in compliance with GAAP and accurately reflect the financial status of the company. Independently prepares schedules and journal entries. Good communication skills, oral and written, are needed. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, plus 3-5 years accounting experience required. A CPA, CMA, MBA or Master's in Accounting is preferred.

Position Specific Description This position reports to the Asset Recovery & Analysis organization. This organization is responsible for all matters related to depreciation (regulatory & non-regulatory), dismantlement and decommissioning. • Responsible for activities in the areas of compliance, transactional, reporting and analytics required to support Asset Recovery & Analysis operations. • Responsible for monthly close processes including creation of journal entries and development of reporting • Responsible for balance sheet & income statement variance reporting • Responsible for accounts reconciliations specific to depreciation activity • Support monthly, quarterly & annual reporting and filings requirements (SEC, FERC, FPSC) • Support various projects as assigned • Prepare ad hoc analysis and reports as needed Job Overview This role will assist in researching, analyzing and reporting on issues that affect the company, recommending possible solutions, and assisting with the follow-up activities to resolve them.
