Manager is looking for someone with previous experience working with blind and/or deaf or hard of hearing individuals

Candidates must already have or be willing to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Deaf-Blind/Combined Vision and Hearing Loss Support Service Provider

Job Description

Serves as the eyes and ears of individuals who are Deaf-Blind and/or Combined Vision and Hearing Loss by providing supports that promotes independence. Relays visual and environmental information and as well as provides sighted guide support. Working in the Phoenix Metro area.

Essential Functions

-Facilitates environmental and visual communication access between consumers who are Deaf-Blind and/or Combined Vision and Hearing Loss and the community.
-Provides communication, and other supports to consumers conducting errands, participating in community events, and other consumers directed activities.
-Keeps appropriate Agency staff informed of changes and important information in the lives of clients served.
-Supports the independence of individuals who are Deaf-Blind and/or Combined Vision and Hearing Loss in the community by relaying information about the environment and providing communication access at all times.
-Completes all required trainings

Job Requirements

High School / GED
At least 18 years of age
Basic computer and typing skills
Ability to communicate effectively with Deaf-Blind and/or Combined Vision and Hearing Loss consumer
Ability to travel independently
Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
Pass background screening and/or drug screening
Ability to communicate in American Sign Language (ASL)
Ability to use communication systems preferred by individuals who are Deaf-Blind and/or Combined Vision and Hearing Loss (i.e., Tactile, Spoken English, large print, and/or Braille)
