Marketing Content Systems Specialist
Location: Rancho Bernardo, CA

Teradata Demand Marketing & Operations is seeking a Marketing Content Systems Specialist to manage the shared metadata across systems including a common enterprise taxonomy. This work requires experience working with metadata and managing content at the enterprise-, or across-business function, level, and an overall technical proficiency, and high degree of business acumen. The ideal candidate works independently, receives minimal guidance, is eager to learn and contribute real business value while working well with others in a fast-paced environment.
• Play a primary and coordinating role in the development of schema and standards for shared metadata; contributing tasks may include data analysis, conversion specifications, taxonomy development, implementation planning and coordination, and implementation support.
• Understand Marketing-certified content subject matter and how marketing and sales audiences consume such content in the context of doing their work activities and in the applications in which they routinely do those activities
• Works with Sales Ops to define business rules to trigger surfacing content prescribed by a combination of metadata associated to content combined with system or object state changes in a given system (for example, a change in a field for an opportunity in
• Continuously validates business rules involved in surfacing recommended content to end users and adjusts based on changes in business process or in the rules needed to support surfacing the most useful content.
• Coordinates the lifecycle review of content and a marketing-content audit on an annual basis to ensure that the content is still on brand and relevant and that the content is properly tagged with accurate metadata
• Monitors and improves business value by tracking the content surfaced against how the business uses that content; collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, preparing reports, and recommending actions.
• Maintains documentation and catalog of metadata and taxonomy with relevant toolsets including Excel and Master Data Management tools.
• Maps business processes and workflows using Visio or a similar process modeling program and basic BPMN 2.0
• Gathers and documents functional configuration and workflow requirements
• Experience working in content management, document management, asset management, and/or knowledge management; understands the roles of metadata, user experience, and other key aspects of effectively managing information for business users.
• Experience with industry best practices concerning content/asset/document management systems, strategy, and operations.
• In depth knowledge of data types, formats, and other attributes defined in data dictionaries.
• Experience working in or with Marketing Operations and Sales Operations organizations
• Experience with, SharePoint, Jive, and/or other enterprise systems used in Marketing and Sales
• Experience providing technical training and writing documentation.
• Experience working in a heavy IT- Business collaborative environment with both Waterfall and Agile project management approaches.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies, etc.
• Experience working in or with Marketing Operations and Sales Operations organizations
• Possesses strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and accuracy, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• 5+ years' experience: 1) working in a role closely related to the management of content, assets, documents, etc., 2) defining metadata and data dictionaries for business-side use (as opposed to IT or developers use), and 3) maintaining data sets using Excel
• MS Excel power user (can create pivot tables, use formulas, create charts and graphs)
• SharePoint 2013 and/or 2016 Online power user capable of working as business owner of a SharePoint team site using a breadth of out of the box, business functionality (e.g., web parts and app parts, list views
• Experience working with business customers/stakeholders, using Visio and BPMN 2.0, to document cross-functional business processes or workflows and look for gaps, disconnects, and opportunities for improvement
• Strong technical written and verbal communication; speaks clear English on the phone and in person
• Able to work in the office 8am-5pm daily with occasional travel.
• Preferred college degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Business Management, or related field
