Job Duties
The duties of the position include:
  • Meets with landowners and representatives of state, counties, railroads, oil companies, gas and electric utilities, irrigation districts, and others to gather information and resolve problems encountered in land acquisition, relocation contracts, crossing agreement negotiations, encroachment removals, and vegetation and orchard management.
  • Based on data and within the parameters defined by Western, develops, prepares, negotiates, processes, and/or administers different acquisition or other related contracts or agreements
  • Gathers data and analyzes Damage Claims resulting from construction or operation and maintenance activities on Western Rights-of-way. Prepares the draft damage claim based on analysis for government review and approval. Once approved by the government, contractor negotiates Damage Claim.
  • In accordance with Western policy, prepares documentation for granting temporary licenses including coordination with various internal and external participants. Ascertains and evaluates interference involved in proposals as related to Western operating requirements and compatibility with Government interest. Determines limitations required to protect Government interest.
  • Conducts periodic reviews of lands under SNR control and assures proper control
  • Trains contract Realty Technician
  • The Realty Specialist Contractor should be able to work independently with minimal government oversight.
  • Candidate is required, to exercise sound technical judgment to gather and analyze data with the situation, in order to develop and propose viable options and strategies to address lands issues encountered in Rights-of-way maintenance and construction activities.
  • Work may be required in a field setting and infrequent overnight travel may be necessary.
