This position is in the Sample Handling Facility. Responsibilities include knowledge or use of various grinding mills and procedures for the preparation of samples for Analytical testing.

• Requires use of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP's) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
• Other responsibilities include filing, data entry, customer service and general lab upkeep (e.g. ordering and stocking supplies, cleaning, equipment maintenance).
• Primary accountability will be the preparation of samples for Analytical testing. Candidate must be able to work well in a team situation, as well as work independently with a minimum of supervision.


Qualifications:

• College Degree Preferred, but not required
• Must possess the ability to learn quickly, have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Computer experience desired.
• Candidate must be able to work well in a team environment as well as work independently with a minimum of supervision.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds and work in noisy environment.
• Hearing protection will be provided.
• Position requires prolonged standing (5-6 hours daily) and the use of a variety of milling equipment (e.g. blenders, Magic Bullet grinder, Stein Mill, Retch Mill).
• Position involves the use and handling of Liquid Nitrogen to prepare samples for Analytical testing at an average frequency of 2 hours per day.
• When using liquid nitrogen for milling purposes, proper personal protective equipment must be worn, consisting of OSHA-approved safety glasses, laboratory coat, and cryogenic gloves.

Schedule:

• 1 position: M-F 7 AM - 3 PM
• 2 positions (1 confirmed, 1 potential): M-F 9 AM - 5 PM
• Schedule: Hours per Week: 37.5 hrs/wk (1/2 lunch per day)
