Seeking Systems Engineers to support client's program in Gaithersburg, MD. This position will be part of the core IT team tasked with developing a highly available IT infrastructure with over 3000 red hat clients and servers and other critical command center technologies providing a 99.999 design. Candidate will be responsible for the design and integration of the EADGE-T IT infrastructure, this is not a PC/Server administration position, it is creating and developing the EADGE-T infrastructure from scratch by customizing FOSS\COTS\GOTS tools and creating custom developed applications and functions. Candidate must have enterprise design experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Red Hat (clients and servers) OS provisioning, YUM/Red Hat Satellite server, LDAP (Red hat), PKI (Red hat), DNS, DHCP, MySQL (Cluster), JBOSS application server, VMWare Management (vSphere), Vmware ESXi, VMware vSAN, network based server IO.

Required Skills:
  1. Prior engineering experience in creating systems from the ground up, including developing the overall system functions of the Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) system stacks and Linux enterprise services.
  2. Linux based systems and designing enterprise management
  3. Knowledge and experience designing the JEE system stack including web, middle tier, and database technologies.
  4. Senior Systems Engineers must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree. Considered an emerging authority.
  5. Mid-Level Systems Engineers must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
  6. Associate Systems Engineers must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Master's degree. Considered experienced, but still a learner.
  7. Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and traditional product development lifecycles.
  8. Possess project leadership skills and work independently with little oversight.
  9. Proven experience multi-tasking in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  10. Candidate must have good communication skills and work well in a team environment.
Desired skills:
  1. Experience creating and developing computing infrastructure (HW, SW, Network Services) from scratch by customizing FOSS\COTS\GOTS technologies.
  2. Creating custom developed applications and functions.
  3. Development experience including Java, Scripting and automation/orchestration (Puppet, Ansible, Kick Start).
  4. IP LAN/WAN Networking design.
  5. Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.X or 7.x, PKI infrastructure, LDAP/Directory services, Apache, JBoss, ESB, load balancing, and PostgreSQL.
  6. Familiarity with military integrated air and missile defense operations and concepts.
  7. Familiarity with MS Office applications; excellent written and oral communication skills, including preparing and presenting briefings for customer/executive management as well as communications between engineering functional skills.
