Field Service Technician I

The Field Service Tech will be responsible to use technical experience and skills to troubleshoot / diagnose and repair hardware issues as required in the Corona area. Also will be responsible to provide in-home installs and service as needed.
Work Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, work hours weekdays 0900-1800, weekend 1000-1900. OT and on-call rotation required.
  • This is a driving position which requires a DMV background check to be completed
  • Use of reliable, personal vehicle required – miles reimbursed according to CompuCom policy
  • Technician will travel to each client’s location to provide service
  • Must maintain good customer focus meeting deadlines and service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs desktops, laptops, servers, and printers
  • Required to obtain OEM certifications
  • Attends weekly meetings and replies to Manager and Team Lead upon request
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of field experience supporting hardware required– desktops, laptops, and POS – printer and server experience a plus
  • Excellent customer service, admin skills, and parts management skills
  • Ability to work weekends, staggered or late shifts possibly including evenings and/or weekends
  • Must be a team player with a good attitude
  • Interpersonal skills needed to interact with a wide range of users and environments
  • Good admin skills, must do updates in real time and track parts usage and returns
Basic Needs / Haves:
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license required (driving position – reimbursed accordingly)
  • Ability to work from a bent, crouched, or kneeled position
  • Ability to work on a ladder or lift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Smartphone with tethering / hot spot capabilities (reimbursed within corporate guidelines)
  • Laptop and basic hand tools required
  • CompTIA A+ Certification
  • OEM Printer Warranty Certifications
  • OEM Laptop / Desktop Warranty Certifications
  • Server experience a plus
