Video Collaboration Project Manager Role
 
The responsibilities of AV Project Manager include supervising all personnel and activities related to audio-visual installation, construction, financing, scheduling, coordinating required resources, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

This contract position is expected to be 6 months in duration with the possibility of extension. 

 
Initiate Project:
  • Contact customer to determine needs
  • Arrange time for project requirements gathering
  • Perform or leverage support from partner groups to complete requirements gathering
  • Determine install length
Project Design:
  • Design Room based on requirements, accounting for any unique challenges presented: power, TO, construction work required, location of rack, etc.
  • BOM Creation: detail what, equipment, vendors, trades, programming, travel, and any other logistical factors and request bids
Facility (Construction) Work (if required):
  • Meet with construction PM to detail scope of work (SOW)
  • Detail SOW in a document for trades to quote materials and labor
  • Secure funding from IT or business unit
Procurement:
  • Receive and approve quotes
  • Submit shopping carts:
    • PM entered if IT funding is approved
    • Customer generated if funded by a business Unit
  • PO Creation:
    • Follow up on PO creation and receipt by vendors
    • Coordinate with vendors to track long lead time items
  • Schedule installation with customer, corporate service, AV integrator, construction PM, etc.
Execution:
  • Oversee any construction work required
  • Oversee physical installation
  • Oversee programming required
Commissioning:
  • Final systems functionality test
  • Add assets to database (Daedalus)
  • Close out project with customer
Qualifications:
  • Background in AV design
  • Background in AV troubleshooting
  • Background in AV programming
  • Previous management experience
  • Solid understanding of AV concepts, terminologies and tools
  • Knowledge of Extron based AV equipment
  • Familiarity with Epson, NEC, Mitsubishi, and Christie projectors
  • Solid understanding of the Cisco Video Infrastructure and Endpoints
  • Familiarity with NEC displays
  • Solid understanding of Room Classification Types preferred
  • Site surveying skills and processes
  • Single-line drawing reading
  • Ability to multitask
  • Attention to detail
  • Meticulous documentation
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management with professionalism
  • Provide onsite equipment support as required
  • Schedule flexibility
  • Reliable transportation
