Sr. Information Architect – MUST Have Data Vault Experience

Our client has created a prototype of a new data warehouse using the Data Vault 2.0 methodology. An Information Architect with expert skills and extensive background in Data Vaulting is needed to review, validate, and provide information architecture guidance to the project. The Information Architect is expected to review and develop data models and standards in support of this large data integration and analytics project. They will review the identity matching and reconciliation processes and make recommendations for synchronizing identities across operational and analytical systems. They will help classify data and recommend any necessary security and access control policies.

In addition, the Senior Information Architect is expected to help plan and conduct a Proof of Concept (POC) and Training project using the Snowflake Cloud Data Warehousing services. Ideally, the Senior Information Architect would have recent experience with Snowflake, but additional resources may be necessary. The client intends to provide certified Data Vault 2.0 training to approximately 6-10 people. Some or all of these resources will then form a POC team, and receive additional training in Snowflake, to reproduce the existing Data Vaults in the Snowflake cloud environment. The project involves making a copy of on-premise raw staging data and loading it into Data Vault structures in Snowflake. Existing SQL Server SSIS ETL processes will be recoded and implemented in Snowflake and performance and scalability tests will be conducted comparing the existing on premise SQL Server environment to the cloud Snowflake environment. A "lessons learned” findings report and presentation will be delivered to several IT managers and executives. The report should highlight the benefits and potential pitfalls of using Snowflake.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, System Analysis or a related field from an accredited college
  • And
  • Fifteen (15) years of IT and business / industry work experience including data modeling, data integration, metadata management, master data management, business intelligence, and analytics, or establishment of data architecture
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
  • And
  • Seventeen (17) years of IT and business / industry work experience including data modeling, data integration, metadata management, master data management, business intelligence and analytics, or establishment of data architecture
  • Possession of a valid California Driver's License prior to appointment
  • Related certifications may be required or desirable
