System Administrator III - Lenel

Our high-visibility client’s security function is enabled by IT systems for CCTV video surveillance, Lenel Enterprise OnGuard v7.2 for facility access management, HID for badge technology, AXIS Cameras, LNVR Suite for Video Management, Resolver Perspective for security investigations, and custom visitor management systems. These are important for the safety & protection of assets and workforce. This Systems Administrator position focuses on the support of enterprise Lenel OnGuard access control system and LNVR video management, although the contractor will help  transition to a different VMS such as Milestone, Genetech, Verint, etc. 
 
HIGH LEVEL JOB DESCRIPTION / SCOPE: 
  • Provides IT support for Lenel OnGuard Enterprise v7.2 facility access control system, Identity / Badge management system(s), and integrations with HID badge readers and AXIS surveillance camera systems (LNVR Suite)
  • Configuration in OnGuard of new badge readers, access reader panels, security cameras, and network video recorders
  • Supports transition from Lenel NVR Video Management System to a new VMS TBD (i.e. Milestone XProtect Enterprise, Genetech, Verint, etc.); experience with Milestone and/or VMS / CCTV migration projects preferred
  • Seeks deep understanding of system design, SQL Server databases, how business processes are enabled in the system, and integrations with other systems & databases
  • Resolves OnGuard replication issues between Master and Region servers
  • Designs and executes data extracts, reports, and database views for security business partners
  • Participates in rotational on-call schedules with fellow team members to resolve unplanned outages or critical system issues; requires some off-hours support and occasional systems upgrade outages on the weekends
CRITICAL SELECTION CRITERIA:

 1. Relevant Education & Technical Knowledge: 
  • High School Diploma / GED required
  • Database experience 
  • At least 5 years of experience IT Support for AXIS control systems 
  • Experience with Lenel OnGuard implementations (flexible with the amount of years in experience), configuration of devices into OnGuard such as readers, panels, cameras, Network Video Recorders (NVR)
  • Programming experience, database modeling, advanced SQL Server querying experience, DB administration, analytics 
  • PREFERRED: 
    • Lenel Silver / Gold / Platinum / Master Certification and/or 5+ years of experience with implementing or supporting large scale enterprise access control systems and knowledgeable with relay / PLC logic
    • Milestone (video management software) for surveillance videos 
    • Bachelor Degree preferred in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering 
2. Analytical Skills: 
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking and analytical skills to independently troubleshoot issues and deliver on results
  • Proven aptitude in translating business requirements to quality technical solutions 
  • Experience in gathering information and assisting in multi-region implementation activities for deployment and support of business infrastructure and physical security applications
3. IT Operational Excellence Practitioner: 
  • Experience with Remedy Incident & Change Management Tool 
  • Understanding of typical Information Risk Management controls to ensure cybersecurity, system reliability, and IT compliance
  • Root Cause Analysis experience 
  • Focus on reliability and continuous improvement in systems & architecture
4. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: 
  • Resourcefulness to self-train, seek information from others, and mentor others
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, peers, and customers across disciplines and geographies to clearly articulate issues, impacts and advise on preferred solution(s) as well as driving teams to consensus 
  • Proactive and service-oriented with a strong sense of accountability
