Program Manager – Purchasing
 
Core Responsibilities:
  • Issues / follows up / clears concerns for all Purchase Order (PO) requests
    • Maintains documentation, supplier database data
    • Follows up regularly with suppliers and be able to provide regular status for all purchase orders
  • Experience working with suppliers to improve response time, supplier relationships, and material readiness.
  • Monitors requisitions to identify commonly purchased items that would be candidates for volume agreements and make appropriate recommendations
  • Prepares and obtains quotations from qualified suppliers
  • Informs internal teams of pending delivery changes in a timely manner
  • Confirms and expedites orders with suppliers as required
  • Assists Purchasing Planner in tracking material for builds, working with PM and suppliers for allocation prioritization
  • Coordinates with Purchase Order Requestors and Finance to close current Purchase Orders prior to new fiscal year
  • Minimizes purchase order discrepancies through coordination with accounting and receiving departments to resolve invoice discrepancies, shipping errors and hold code problems, as necessary
  • Reviews Bills of Material (BOMs) to determine what needs to be purchased for builds
  • Submits Tickets to consolidate material and provide material information for builds
  • Complies with all purchasing policies, procedures and processes
Critical Skills:
  • 2 years of experience in a Purchasing role (preferably in server hardware)
  • Proven ability to build relationships with internal employees in a previous role
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office – particularly Excel
  • Ability to analyze and report information (Excel)
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication (verbal, written, listening) skills
  • Ability to think creatively in proposing changes to current processes
