Release Management Lead

The Release Lead will be responsible for implementing and managing release processes for the progression of code in the development, test, and production environments. The Release Lead works collaboratively with all participants in software development projects. This candidate is expected to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments.
  • Resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
  • Manage tools and coordinate work between different teams
  • Weekly Release Reporting
  • Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities
  • Maintain the release schedule via a calendar
  • Continually work towards making improvements in the release process
  • Create and enforce process that supports the release pipeline
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with release management toolsets
  • Dedicated problem-solver who can work in a fast-paced environment
  • Established skills with a variety of development methodologies and the ability to adapt these to the needs of an organization; Agile experience preferred
Required Experience and Skills:
  • 5+ years of previous release management experience; solid understanding of software release principles preferred
  • Experience with Jenkins, Bamboo or related continuous integration tools
  • Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • General knowledge of quality assurance functions including functional / system testing, user acceptance testing and systems integration testing
  • Experience with JIRA and Agile methodologies
  • 5+ years implementing automated build, deploy, and test automation frameworks
  • 5+ years’ experience implementing automated environment management tools and processes
  • Leadership focused on driving development for new initiatives, continuing development on existing projects, major launch events, and day-to-day operations
  • Experience with ticketing systems
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communicator, good interpersonal skills; able to forge trusting relationships
  • Ability and interest to learn tools quickly
  • Proven capabilities to work under pressure to solve critical issues
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, applying sound judgment and critical thinking to execute and deliver
  • Formal training in project management practices preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
