Sr. Technical Program Manager - Vendor Ops

Our hugely popular client is building inventive solutions to solve employees' challenges, and needs your help inspecting and managing operations that take the systems much closer to a perfect employee experience. As a Senior Technical Program Manager in the Vendor Operations Program, you will have visibility into vendor systems across HR and leverage your skills to ensure they stay healthy.
 
Your broad responsibilities include performing routine inspections of vendor integrations and systems, influencing third party providers to insist on the highest operational standards, and preparing corporate processes for continued high growth by helping test the scalability of internal and external systems. By leveraging broad knowledge of system architecture and web technologies, you will ensure reliable architecture that ensures the health of employee-centric systems. You are able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As a TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as Program Manager, ensuring you are turning requirements into trust-earning products
  • Facilitate rapid delivery on concepts by negotiating needs of leaders with vendors' ability to deliver
  • Serve as Technical Lead for complex department-wide initiative, often without direct authority over resources
  • Ensure that schedules, milestones, and priorities are compatible with other department goals
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of applications – from mock-ups to production ready applications
  • Ensure broad, company-wide compatibility between external systems and the supported application / tool
  • Strategically manage relationships with 3rd party vendors to ensure top-notch support
  • Build relationships with HR technical teams to ensure solutions consider the bigger picture
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in defining technologies for customer-facing products
  • Experience implementing and maintaining systems and processes in large-scale, complex environments
  • Strong business analysis and functional experience, including requirements gathering
  • Expert knowledge of operations best practices, system architecture, and data integration
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as C, C++, C#, Java, Perl, Python
  • Hands-on, working knowledge of current web technologies
  • Proficiency at developing and managing effective working relationships with leadership
  • Good instincts: you know your customer and how best to serve them, even when they don't
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve with little to no direction
  • Accountability: sound judgment and a capacity to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Attention to detail: you prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously without sacrificing the ability to dive deep
  • Strong verbal / written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in related field
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy solutions to the cloud
  • Knowledge of UI / UX best practices
  • Strong knowledge of information security best practices
  • Understand market segments, customer base, roadmap, and industry verticals
