Scope:
As an Electrical Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for developing designs containing control systems and motor control technologies. This includes the electrical design of custom circuitry as well as the integration of custom and off-the-shelf motor control technology. Tasks will also include the schematic design and layout support of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs). We promote team based design and integration, so you must possess good written and verbal communication skills for interacting with fellow Electronics engineers, as well as our Mechanical, Firmware, Process, and Advanced Systems engineering teams.
This position requires: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering
· Strong background on classic and modern control theories, especially on motion control
· Experience with motion control design, tuning, and optimization in robotics or related industries
· Experience with various motion control hardware, firmware, and embedded code
· Experience with PCB schematic and layout design tools
· Experience with PCB Design For Manufacturing (DFM) techniques
· Knowledge of various analog and digital circuits and concepts, including:
· Interfacing microprocessors, FPGAs, and DSPs
· Analog to digital converters (Client), Digital to analog converters (DAC)
· Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and optical systems and related lab equipment

How you will make a difference:
· Help define requirements for motor control software and interfacing hardware components including encoder feedback
· Design, model, implement, and test motor controls for various motor drives used in system.
· Assist in the electrical specification and evaluation of various custom and off the shelf motor control drivers and controllers
· Understand and code at system/subsystem level in C/C++ or assembly language for micro controllers/digital signal processors and FPGA/CPLD in controllers
· Determine and verify the motor system requirements by analysis and modeling of control systems using simulation tools such as Matlab
· Work closely with mechanical and software systems engineers to develop robust controllers for various electro-mechanical systems/devices
· Implement designs with schematic capture and layout tools
