Job Summary:

As a UX Architect/Designer, you will understand big-picture concepts, grasp fundamental requirements, dive into the details, and then wireframe, design, and prototype solutions. You will be a skilled designer who can create, collaborate, and communicate user experiences to a variety of audiences. Working in an agile environment, you will coordinate with people across products and across disciplines, balancing business objectives, end-user goals, and technical requirements to help craft best-in-class experiences. You will have a key role in impacting customer, prospect, employee, and partner experiences in the digital space and beyond. A key role in making Trane the leader in connected buildings.
You should have demonstrable experience building user interfaces for complex interactive products and have the skills to move easily from minute details to broad workflow generalities. Experience with data visualization would be highly beneficial. Visual design skills are beneficial. You should also have experience working with development teams, advocating for the needs of the user, building consensus, and clearly documenting the desired solution.
Responsibilities:
  • Design the user experience of new and existing software applications and experiences.
  • Design and document clear, modern, interfaces and understandable data visualizations.
  • Assist with researching, exploring and testing user interface designs for mobile, tablet and web-based applications.
  • Collaborate in an agile environment with product owners, scrum masters, developers, testers, stakeholders and other members of the user experience team.
  • Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications and design patterns.
  • Present work to the user experience team, product team, and executives for review and feedback.
  • Ensure user experience requirements are appropriately implemented through the development process by providing timely reviews and feedback.
  • Stay informed about user experience and design trends and user preferences.
  • Evangelize and advocate for research, experience design, user-centered design philosophy, and best practices within the department, within Trane, and externally.
  • Work independently under general prioritization and mentorship of the UX Director.
Specific Deliverables Include:
  • Sitemaps and flow charts
  • Wireframes
  • Pattern Library
  • Data Visualizations
  • Presentations with various levels of information for a variety of audiences
  • (Optional) Interactive prototypes and other deliverables to aid in user research
  • (Optional) Style guides and design specifications for final visual design
Required:
  • 3-5+ years in a user experience or interactive design role
  • Validated experience with Axure, Omnigraffle or other wireframing tools
  • A strong portfolio of user experience work
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities
Preferred:
  • UX research experience
  • Experience with software or web design in an agile environment
  • Strong presentation skills, including preparing presentations and presenting them to various local and remote audiences
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience designing mobile websites/apps or responsively experiences
Optional:
  • Interactive prototyping experience (Axure, In-Design, iRise, Balsamiq, etc.)
