As a Network Administrator at Client, you will be responsible for most of the tasks centered within the Data Center. The role involves evaluating factors to determine data center specifications, network input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility within the enterprise network. The Network Administrator will be handle be responsible to develop and recommend corrective actions for all network and data center initiatives.
 
Primary Job Duties, but are not limited to:

• Oversee, maintain and monitor our local data centers power and space footprint as wells equipment inventory.
• Plan and build additional capacity driven by network and application growth.
• Racking, stacking, wiring, new network equipment and or servers in the Data Center.
• Light router and switch configurations for new and existing network devices.
• Troubleshooting cabling and switch port error within the network.
• Firmware upgrades on various network components within the data center.
• Manage co-location connectivity for various customer connections, including switch and
router configurations.
• Manage and uphold cabling standards for existing and new server farms.
• Provide remote hands for various existing and future projects pertaining to network expansion
and capacity growth.
• Check and update trouble tickets, logging all interaction with clients with the internally-developed Help Desk.
• Maintain rack elevation diagrams of all data centers.
• Hours will be Mon-Thurs 9-5 Fri 3pm – 11pm.
 
Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related technology,
• Minimum of two (3) years’ experience working in a data center environment.
• Knowledge of Data Center design.
• Working knowledge of communications protocols and networking technology: TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP, IP routing and protocols, IP Subnetting, ARP, ICMP, SSH, DNS, SMTP.
• Must be able to perform occasional heavy equipment lifting.
• A car is required for light travel between data centers.
• Experience with various types of fiber cables and cable connectors.
