Principles and Duties
The Consultant will be responsible for Configuring, Integrating and Troubleshooting Converged infrastructure built using VCE VBlocks primarily VB 740. He/She should have expert level knowledge in operations & Support for one or more of the Technology Domains with Primary expertise with VMware virtualization platform along with Datacenter Networking or Storage platform or Cisco UCS Compute Infrastructure.

He/She will be responsible for technical decisions that will affect project timelines, quality, functional units etc., He/she will partner with client groups in a team setting, taking ownership of their objectives to achieve business results. The Consultant should exercise judgment within defined Industry standards and use creativity to develop a clear low level services methodology for the converged infrastructure solutions being positioned.

This is an exciting initiative to implement and build next generation data center architectures while also creating new data center specific services that complete the architectures for clients who are looking for Convergence, Consolidation, Virtualization and Automation of their complex data center functions. Strong consultancy skills are preferable for this position along with the ability to develop low level repeatable service methodologies.

The ideal candidate will have good technical expertise in the use of Virtualization techniques, Data Center products and their use in the design of Converged Infrastructure through Network, Compute, Storage and Virtualization architecture. He/She should possess an industry wide understanding of datacenter infrastructure applications, operating systems, databases, replication/disaster recovery, security and data protection. In addition, IT people/process consulting knowledge and experience, understanding of datacenter physical requirements specific to power, cooling, cabling etc., operations experience and working knowledge in implementing management and monitoring infrastructure for the datacenter.

As such we are looking for minimum eight years of experienced individuals in relevant fields for positioning and delivering data center solutions with respect to Converged Datacenter Infrastructure.

Minimum Skills
Require a VBlock certified engineer with the following skillsets:

8+ years' experience with VMware ESXi, ESX 5.x, vCenter 5.x is strongly desired. This experience should include the planning, deployment, configuration and administration of host systems and virtual machines
Hands on experience in VCE converged converged infrastructures like VBlock (VB740, VB720, VB340), VxBlock &VxRack)
Management and configuration of vBlock based systems
Administration and performance management of guest systems running on vBlock.
Hand on Experience on VMWare Products like ESXi, vCenter, SRM, vSphere Replication & VSAN.
Hands on experience with CISCO UCS.

Experience in handling Lange Enterprise Environments Infrastructure
Experience in setting up VMware infrastructure and integration with converged infrastructure.
Excellent troubleshooting skills in an enterprise wide deployment of converged infrastructure with Virtualization
Strong understand on Network & Storage Technologies.
Strong understanding of Datacenter Big Picture with different technologies and their interdependencies and cross connects.
Monitoring and deep dive troubleshooting skills across guest, VMware, hardware and storage (external arrays)
Ability to determine system bottlenecks and performance issues
Ability to determine right sizing / utilization of guest systems
Excellent technical skills in Vision IO, VROPS

Desired Skills
Implementing & validating the designs of Enterprise server virtualization, Data Center network, and/or Enterprise Data Protection solutions & Enterprise Storage.
Knowledge and experience with VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft virtualization platforms.
Fulfill assigned virtualization requests and support virtualization environment
Manage Enterprise Virtualization Configuration Management Solution
Manage Enterprise Virtualization Automation Software and scripting tools.
Analyze and identify all virtualization team's manual tasks, procedures and duties and automate these tasks to improve efficiency and minimize discrepancies.
Manage Enterprise Virtualization Monitoring Solution. Work with vendor to maintain the overall health and compliance of application.
Configure Thresholds, alarms and alerts within capacity and health tools.
Responsible for all alerts and sees to it that all alerts are escalated and resolved accordingly
Performance Analysis to follow up with Server owners to recover wasted resource allocations
Maintain Virtualization Environment Capacity Reports
Fulfill assigned virtualization requests and support virtualization environment
Create and Manage VM/vApp Templates
Maintain virtualization environments overall compliance.
Foundational knowledge and experience with Converged/Hyper-converged solutions (any vendor), VMware products and solutions, one or more of EMC storage solutions,
Familiarity of blade server platforms, network product families, virtualization hypervisors and Enterprise storage.
Linux command line
Play a key role on the server provisioning team, which sets server configuration standards
Lead the efforts to define, analyze and implement technical and functional improvements
·Knowledge on networking and storage skills

Ability to do performance analysis and tuning of virtual server, datacenter network environment, storage is a plus.
Experience or familiarity with converged and hyper-converged technologies like Cisco VCE VBLOCK/VxBLOCK, EMC VxRack/VxRail, Nutanix and Simplicity is a plus.

CertificationVCE VBlock certified.
VCP DCV 6 (VMware datacenter Virtualization)
VCP NSX (Network Virtualization)
Storage certification (Preferably VMAX3)
Cisco UCS
