To provide support to a Client minimal invasive surgery platform project. Candidate will be working in the R&D department and will have exposure and build experience in the verification and validation process of medical devices.
• Communication Skills (written and oral):
  • Prepares full documentation in accordance with relevant internal SOPs and development process controls.
  • Drafts protocols and reports for studies during methods development, pre-verification and verification phases of product development.
  • Prepares posters and technical papers to be presented at technical and/or clinical conferences.
  • Presents findings to peers, leadership team, surgeons, customers, and at society meetings.
  • Communicates effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Technical Skills-
  • Assists/Executes performance evaluation of prototypes: bench top, simulated tissue and wet lab evaluation.
  • Designs fixtures for studies.
  • Utilizes knowledge of statistical processes to plan for pertinent studies.
  • Utilizes statistical software and principles to analyze data.
• Customer Focus:
  • Observes procedural cases in hospitals.
  • Works closely with other medical professionals, such as doctors, Client and nurses to understand customer needs.
  • Conducts literal research to stay abreast in field.
• Works Well with Others:
  • Works cooperatively with others as part of a team.
  • Collaborates with peers to manage the development of appropriate testing to verify product meets internal and external customer requirements.
  • Values and respects team ideas and opinions.
  • Education in Biomedical Engineering or related field. Bachelor’s plus a minimum of 1-year relevant experience; or Master’s plus a minimum of 0 years relevant experience (include GPA in resume).
  • Previous medical device experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of anatomy related to MIS procedures.
  • Knowledge of principles and applications of biomechanics and mechanical testing.
  • Experience using a variety of office and engineering software, including MS Office, Pro-E, Minitab, etc.
  • Strong analytical, communications [both oral and written forms] and organizational skills required.
  • Detail-oriented with strong commitment to quality and to the workplace with the ability to efficiently multitask.
  • Must be willing and able to travel ~15% (up to 40%) of the time primarily between New England facilities via car or train. Domestic travel will be needed periodically.
  • Must be available to work at least 40 hours a week Monday-Friday. Candidate will be expected to work overtime as needed.
