Job Summary
Test Engineer required for the ThinkSystem Validation team.
Job Description: We are looking for someone with a strong background in testing applications at an enterprise level. You will be responsible for providing oversight and guidance in writing and maintaining testing documentation. You will be expected to develop test plans, ability to develop automated test scripts, and support any other test related activities. You should be a self-starter and problem solver with good communication skills, and have the ability to work constructively and proactively with development team members and stakeholders. You will be expected to develop and successfully execute detailed test plans, and establish governance for unit, process, functional, system integration, acceptance, and regression testing.

What you'll be doing:
• Collaborate with stakeholders, UI/UX designers, software development teams, and business analysts to help prioritize stories and build test cases
• Work within and across Agile teams to test technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies
• Consult with the development and/or requirements teams to coordinate and test applications
• Actively participate in project meetings during software development life-cycle
• Develop and document test plans, test cases, automation scripts, and schedules
• Establish fact based measurements of test efficiency, effectiveness and product readiness, examples include: defect densities, defect counts, code coverage and automation counts
• Manage defects to resolution while proactively identifying risks to management
• Work collaboratively with development to identify testability of the architectural design and application code while infusing quality into the team's deliverables
• Test applications for compliance with upgrades
• Ensure new software modifications meet requirements, acceptance criteria, and operate satisfactorily in the environment
• Document the successes and failures of all executed test procedures
• Possess an ability to write clear, concise and effective correspondence, test plans, results, procedures, and scenarios in accordance with policies
• Drive innovation using new methods and technologies
• Familiarity with software development tools such as Team Foundation Server, Visual Studio / Code, Coded UI Testing (CUIT), and Lotus Notes
Required Technical/Functional Skills: • Proven experience with black box and white box testing techniques and tools
• Experience establishing load testing criteria and creating a test environment to support ongoing load validation
• Experience establishing performance testing criteria and creating a test environment to support ongoing performance validation
• Strong written and verbal communications, teamwork and problem-solving skills
• Engage in testing as a part of the development cycle, thereby shortening the QA cycle
• Ability to interact and communicate successfully with business partners and technology teams
• Experience working with resources in different geographical locations and time zones
• Experience with GIT
• Experience with Visual Studio / Code
• Experience with Coded UI Testing (CUIT)
• Experience with C#
• Experience with Lotus Notes
Required Education/Experience/Licenses: • Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years of software quality assurance testing experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience with QA automation tools including scripting and recorded automation
• Minimum 1 year experience with SQL queries and understanding of SQL tools to navigate the database
