Position Description
The Test Engineer will work under the supervision of an Engineering Lead in R&D to support new product development for products used in patient monitoring and recovery. The Engineer will perform both Systems Engineering and Test Engineering activities, including product interface documentation, requirement management, design and develop test fixtures, write and debug test protocols, execute formal test protocols, and write test reports. The intern will have good analytical and practical experience and will be able to work independently to meet project deliverables.
Job Responsibilities
  • Update functional and boundary diagrams
  • Populate and maintain work items in requirement tracking tool (Polarion)
  • Informally map Stakeholder voices to Polarion work items
  • Assist in completion of Test Report Forms for standards and FDA guidance documents
  • Assist in creation of isolation diagram
  • Assist in creating P-Diagrams for system/product functions
  • Assist in Interface Specification
  • System Integration Test Plan
  • Assist in documentation of requirement tracing
  • Document technical risks
  • Aid in test tool creation and validation
  • Documenting tool validations and test instructions/protocols
  • Execute tests/protocols
  • Record and report test results
  • Aid in failure analysis when/if needed
  • Enter protocols, reports and validation documents into documentation database
  • Aid with ensuing all design requirements are met and adequately tested
  • Perform inspections
Required Skills
  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Design/modeling software skills – SolidWorks preferred
  • Proficient with MS Word
  • Ability to test in a lab setting
  • Test tool creation - performing tool validations a plus
  • Detail oriented
  • Creating detailed test instructions
  • Preferred
  • Understanding/use of calibrated equipment
  • 3D printing experience
  • Familiarity with IEC 60601
  • Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices
  • Familiarity with documentation database(s) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
  • Software data analysis a plus – MiniTab and/or MatLab preferred
