POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position will be accountable for managing the publication process and delivering on milestones of assigned clinical research projects. Responsibilities are inclusive of coordination of publication committee activities, driving commitment decisions for investigator proposals, providing medical writing/editing support, and managing individual efforts to final delivery (e.g. peer-review publication, scientific conference presentation) while in compliance to regulatory, medical society, and corporate standards.
  • Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
  • Provide medical writing, editing, and formatting for prepared publications and scientific presentations
  • Evaluates and analyzes clinical data.
  • Coordinate publication committee meetings and administrate follow-up actions
  • Manage portfolio of publication activities on assigned projects (e.g. collect input on strategic alignment, drive commitment decisions, communicate decisions to investigators)
  • Oversee individual publication activities, requiring compliance with publication processes and procedures for Healthcare and target journals
  • Assist with successful conduct of assigned studies consistent with R&D and Marketing plans.
  • Assist study managers in providing interim and final reports and presentations.
  • Serves as a medical/scientific consultant to marketing or research project teams and government regulatory agencies
  • Writes and edits manuscripts on clinical studies and/or scientific reports including special summaries from raw data for submission to regulatory agencies or for in-company use, monographs, comprehensive reviews, scientific exhibits, and other projects requiring skill in medical communication
  • Compiles, analyzes, and summarizes additional data from other sources as needed. Prepares literature for new products, and revises existing literature.
  • Writes and maintains files on informative journal abstracts according to current or estimated future needs
  • Composes medical papers from outlines provided by doctors for presentations.
  • May prepare responses regarding company products, drugs, or diseases and refers in-depth technical inquiries to medical personnel
  • Requires knowledge of cardiac medical devices, current developments, and ability to remain abreast of current literature
SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM: Typically an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. Required Knowledge and Experience:
  • Advanced knowledge of medical devices and cardiac rhythm therapies
  • Strong Project Management background, experience & expertise
  • Strong Research experience
  • Experience authoring peer-reviewed manuscript and abstract presentations at major scientific conferences,
  • Experience working in complex environment leading cross-functional teams,
  • Experience working under strict regulatory conditions.
Required Education:
  • Master's Degree or PhD from University
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
