Job Description:
We are seeking a Capacity Planning Manager with strong knowledge in IT Infrastructure Engineering, Capacity and Performance for Compute, Storage, Network, Security, and Business Service Management project deliveries.
The Capacity Planning manager would lead multiple capacity and performance engineers in capacity plans, projects from inception through completion, while adhering to scope, schedule, quality and budget for capacity and performance efforts.
The Capacity Planning Manager must possess strong communication, presentation, and relationship building skills and must be savvy working with both technology and business partners across the organization in a collaborative way.
The individual in this role will be part of the CTO Technology Planning organization and will work with IT Security & Privacy, Infrastructure and Operations, third party vendors, and cross functional teams to deliver the infrastructure capacity, plan for capacity and performance management, work on full stack projects related to capacity and performance management platforms and related projects.
Capacity Planning Manager Capabilities:

At least 5-7 years of exposure to IT system integration as a Capacity or IT Engineering Manager with ITIL knowledge
BA/BS in Engineering, Finance, Statistics, or Business, or equivalent professional experience
5+ years of capacity management and/or technical program management experience
Support multiple business services and solutions to identify service level and capacity requirements
Anticipate and interpret business requirements to generate accurate demand trends and forecasts
Provide capital investment recommendations based on projected growth
Establish and maintain dashboards projecting utilization of available capacity for all business services in all locations
Engage with product teams to assess current capacity planning capabilities and drive clearly defined data requirements and metrics to support the entire data flow - from capture and analysis, to presentation and ongoing management of resources
Drive alignment around capacity management best practices, including service design and performance assessment, data collection and analysis, and reporting standards
Proficiency in MS-Project, and other MS office suite of products (Power Point, Excel, Word, Visio)
Support project planning activities requiring capacity projections
Very strong communication, presentation, relationship building and strategic planning skills
Strong time management, goals setting and task prioritization abilities
Proficiency in reporting project progress through dashboard presentations, project metrics, trend analysis, executive reporting
Working experience in an infrastructure organization structure and knows data center engineering best practices
3+ years of SQL, Excel, and Reporting/Dashboards tools (Tableau, PowerBI, etc) or equivalent data analysis experience
Process design and implementation experience
Strong data analysis, financial modeling, budgeting and forecasting skills
Excellent communication, leadership and organization skills
Ability to drive results independently and in a cross-functional team oriented environment 

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of common information security & risk management frameworks such as ISO 27001, ITIL, COBIT, and NIST is preferred
Demonstration of a broad understanding of systems security principles, practices and procedures
Technical expertise of security systems (firewalls, IPS/IDS, etc.)
Technical Knowledge of infrastructure functions including telecommunications, network, systems administration and overall design of networks
Knowledge of a variety of technologies including but not limited to Compute, Amazon, Azure, Client-UNIX, NT, Cisco routers, and architecture strategies to ensure high reliability
Experience in migrating users, desktops, servers, file servers, application, database, storage, operating systems, network consolidation, data center operational technologies, server upgrade, retiring servers, migrating to virtual servers, migrating to another platform
Ability to perform application and infrastructure discovery and assessments
Ability to perform server and application dependency analysis
Knowledge on SAN, Orchestration, Virtualization, and Automation
Knowledge on Server platform technologies (Unix/Wintel - Dell/Sun/IBM/Client etc.)
Knowledge on Storage platform technologies (EMC/NetApp, etc.)
Knowledge and skills in SQL/Oracle, VMWare, cloud computing, Windows, Linux admin skills, scripting, reporting, MS Office, distributed server capacity/performance management (preferred), preferred experience with the following tools: BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization, AWS, VCenter, Splunk, Tableau, and application performance management tools.

Capacity Planning: Lead one or more projects involving multiple departments across specialty areas in Capacity and Performance Management that have significant impact on business productivity and operations. Independently manage timelines, resources, budget, staff and implementation efforts.
Actively identify, resolve, and escalate capacity planning challenges.
Manages project scope/requirements changes, multiple and competing demands and priorities determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk using appropriate fact-based metrics/assumptions.
Resolve issues and conflicts, remove barriers, and resolve Scope & Change Management:
Lead the delivery of projects through the entire development lifecycle. Develop WBS based project plan in MS-Project, identify dependencies, critical path and maintains its sanctity through the project life cycle.
Work with the stakeholders on change requests and make sure conflicting priorities are effectively managed within the project boundaries with proper change management process.Financial Management:
Identify the direct and indirect cost, collect effort estimates, non-human cost and prepare project budget. Actively manage, control, and report project budgetary forecasts and variances.
Risk & Issues Management:

Proactively identify risks, evaluate them on qualitative and quantitative parameters, and work with the team to define the contingency and mitigation plans.
Identify alternative solutions for issues and guide the team towards timely, practical and best possible resolution.
Collaboration: Drive collaboration across teams and departments. Address issues upfront, define alternative solutions, resolve conflict and create lasting, productive partnerships with clients.
Provide resources and organizational structure to promote collaborative efforts to project modules. 

Project Delivery:

Deliver projects on time and within budget.
Make changes to project phases as needed to address changes or problems to original project scope.
Communicate with senior management regarding project obstacles and make necessary changes to project team makeup and scope in effort to continue progress towards deliverables. 


Convey goals and objectives to project team members in a clear and compelling manner.
Produce concise project status reports that articulate project delivery.
Ensure that issues and successes are clearly communicated to team members, stakeholders, sponsors and all levels of management.
Ensure and promote open communication with the capacity and project teams.
Tactfully and candidly address situations to maximize opportunity and minimize exposure to risk.minor project issues. Act as escalation point for potential conflicts between direction and project constraints
Experienced in capacity management and infrastructure engineering for distributed server environments, as well as network and distributed storage environments.
Responsibilities will include server performance analysis, capacity reporting and analysis, capacity management tool administration, and capacity management issue resolution.
Able to provide consultation with business solutions group area and the Infrastructure & Operations Engineering and Operations teams to resolve capacity and performance issues.
