The Operations Analyst will provide Server and Application Operations support for the Bank which is a 24 x 7 Production service. 
Support consists of a Production and Pre-Production environment running on a Midrange AIX/P-Series platform across geographically diverse dual sites, a worldwide network, and Windows Servers within a multi network configuration. The software stack includes AIX, DB2, MQ, HACMP, PPRC, W2K3, Replistor, and numerous COTS Financial packages. The Network includes Ethernet LANs and WAN connections connecting the major central banks of the world. The role includes; first response to any system alert or errors while maintaining health and system checks for numerous custom and customer specific applications. Rapid problem determination and resolution for customer supported applications, hardware/software, User Administration within agreed SLA's, and the execution of an intensive established timeline. 

Additional responsibilities include; Daily review of the Problem & Change management queues by prioritizing important issues and facilitate progression of root cause analysis and problem resolution. This include taking ownership or unassigned records and escalate and/or drive problems to appropriate support groups when necessary.  Drive problem to resolution. 
  • Strong communication. Both verbal and written. Customer facing role. 
  • Strong Problem Management skills. Ability to follow problems end to end. 
  • Previous operations experience is desired. 
  • Unix skills. General knowledge of Unix platform and ability to submit simple Unix commands 
  • Intel skills. General knowledge of Windows platform. 
  • Networking skills. Knowledge of WAN/LAN. 
  • Strong PC skills. Ability to copy/paste and move quickly and swiftly between windows 
  • Working knowledge of Tivoli ITM infrastructure (TEC/TEP/TEMS) is desired. 
  • Working knowledge of Maximo tool for Problem and Change Management is deisred. 
  • DB2/SQL skills would be helpful.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of Unix, DB2, MQ, Windows and Websphere. 
  • Proactively work to automate manual tasks, removing the potential for human error. 
  • Flawless execution and accurate maintenance of the business timeline for handover and problems. 
  • Willing to work a rotating schedule, alternating evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Yearly travel may be required. 
  • An internal extensive accreditation process is also required as part of the role. 
  • Ability to take direction, self starter and proactive. 
  • Ability to work well in a highly dynamic team that crosses geographies. Not afraid to pick up the phone when needed.
