Position: Procurement Manager for Construction
Location: South San Francisco, CA
Duration: 1 Years Contract
Manages architectural/engineering, construction and other professional services contracts in support of the Procurement Engineering & Construction department in close coordination with team technical/engineering managers and performs related duties as required.

Works closely with the engineering stakeholders and partners as associated with each contract. Stakeholders include:
project controls managers
Drafts the prime contracts for General Contractor and Architect/Engineer and other direct professional services contracts. Communicate with contract/legal team. Apply sound contracting principles and practices with Procurement guidelines, business policies and procedures.
Develops and executes strategies and tactics to source and commit procurement of construction and engineering services.
Works directly with project team members, suppliers and contractors to define project requirements and scopes of work, and requests for proposal and bid submittals.
Initiates RFPs/RFQs, analyzes bids, negotiates for best and final offer, and awards bid packages.
Works with legal to initiate contract, evaluates contract terms, adherence to agreed upon scope of work and follows through to signed execution.
Supports project team activities aligning procurement activities with project timelines.
Manages administrative provisions of the contract including the deliverables, performance period, and contract value;
Confers with management personnel to determine needs and then, in coordination with the contract representative, develops appropriate contract tools;
Conducts contract reviews to ensure completeness and inclusion of required terms and conditions and necessary revisions;
Prepares and updates daily, weekly and monthly procurement reports
Will consider Project Manager or Project Controls Engineer candidates with construction experience interested in a Procurement role.
Experience in procurement and/or Construction Project -related work experience is preferred, with an emphasis on the procurement of services and goods/equipment. The individual must have a minimum of (1) year of progressively responsible experience in the area of contract administration in support of the delivery of construction services (including Guaranteed Maximum Price, Design/Build, Lump Sum, Unit Price and Time and Material agreements); and/or engineering, construction or procurement experience related to the solicitation, negotiation, award and administration of such contracts.
Knowledge of general contracting processes
Strong communication skills both orally and in writing
Knowledge of business functional processes (negotiating contracts, writing RFPs).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar, Webex, Ariba esourcing
Ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong teamwork skills, self-starter, independent worker.
Engineering/Construction, Project Management, and Genentech experience a plus
