Role – Technical Program Manager
Location: Chicago, IL
Duration: 6 months
Rate- $80/hr
 
As the Technical Program Manager, you will be the on-site customer point of contact responsible for overseeing the direction, coordination, implementation, executive, control and success of the off-shore production operations and support services , while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments and goals of the organization.  This role will work closely with the off-shore Delivery Manager who directly manages the off-shore team.  
 
Responsibilities:
  • Program Management responsibilities:
    • Ability to manage several related small projects.
    • Manage the KPI's related to all the projects.
    • Process and project SLA governance.
    • Defining the program governance (controls);
    • Planning the overall program and monitoring the progress;
    • Managing the program's budget;
    • Managing risks and issues and taking corrective measurements.
    • Support new RFP's and corporate initiatives for new customer onboarding.
  • People Management responsibilities:
    • Ability to Manage multi skill, multi tenure people and manage conflict
    • Plan capacity for project delivery.
    • Tenure management and skill management for the people in delivery.
    • Performance management.
    • Manage people inventory and people cost.
  • Customer Management responsibilities: 
    • Building and maintaining relationships with clients and key personnel within customer companies.
    • Conducting business reviews to ensure clients are satisfied with services delivered.
    • Understand customer pain points and drive enhancements in delivery.
    • Understand requirements and provide inputs to sales for opportunity conversion.
  • Escalation Management Responsibilities:
    • Manage and govern internal and external escalation from tactical and delivery standpoint.
    • Review and prepare root cause analysis and execute corrective actions.
    • Review escalation with the management and notify key stakeholders.
  • Financial Management:
    • Understand the cost drivers.
    • Productivity enhancement.
    • Should have clear understanding of the budget and prepare forecast.
    • Project/Program billing, invoice submissions.
    • Face Financial audits for the program.
 
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years experience
  • BS Computer Science/Engineering, Masters or MBA (Preferred)
  • ITIL certified and expertise in service management.
  • Project management and program management skills, PMP/Prince certification would be an added advantage.
  • Past experience in software development and/or software delivery team.
  • The candidate should have software solution operations experience and should have experience working in an Agile work environment
  • Familiar with various software development tools and databases like
    • JavaScript build tools: Maven, Gradle or Ivy
    •  JVM and Java stack: Tomcat, Jetty
    • Big Data (SQL) and standard enterprise databases (Casandra, Hbase, PostgreSQL)
  • Familiar with various system monitoring tools like kafka.
  • Should have knowledge on the emerging technologies and should be self-motivated.
  • The candidate should have excellent risk identification skills and ability to manage and mitigate the risk.
  • The candidate should have good presentation skills and should have excellent people acumen.
  • Candidate should have exposure to customer management, vendor and escalation management.
  • Good understanding of quality management process, with knowledge of six sigma concepts.
  • The candidate should have good communication and interpersonal skills.
