Responsibilities and Duties:
·         Take direction from the team lead and work within a team-environment to achieve organizational goals
·         Provide technical solutions to a wide range of problems and user requests through an established IT ticketing system.
·         Install, configure and maintain various Linux flavors (SUSE, Redhat, CentOS, Scientific Linux, Ubuntu etc.) and associated applications
·         Perform standard administration tasks (packaging, OS installs, patch management)
·         Provide Linux/UNIX support to IT infrastructure and Engineering users
·         Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. 
·         Develop custom scripts to automate the Linux/UNIX infrastructure
·         Position requires communicating with different functional groups like Engineering, IT and Vendors.
·         Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.
Requirements:
·         Hands-on experience on troubleshooting, monitoring, upgrading hardware and software.
·         Experience in Suse Linux Hypervisor implementation (Suse Linux with KVM)
·         Experience on Virtualization technologies like VMware, KVM etc.
·         Setup and configure cross-platform authentication (Linux with AD)
·         Demonstrated significant experience in Linux/Unix Systems Administration (5+ years)
·         Comfortable with the Linux or UNIX CLI
·         Highly versed in Linux administration and best practices
·         Installs, configures and maintains system applications including SSH, TCP/IP, FTP, NIS, NFS, CIFS and Samba
·         Experience with system administration automation and scripting
·         General understanding of Linux internals (system calls, file systems, processes, etc)
·         Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis. Configure / add new services as necessary.
·         Create and update documents on operation, configuration, or other procedures.
·         Experience on iSCSI, NFS and CIFS implementation and configuration
·         Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.  Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
·         Familiar with enterprise network architectures, large and complex Linux environments
·         Knowledge on VPN, Imaging technologies, WAN acceleration technologies and Fast File Transfer technologies
·         Knowledge of cloud technology
·         Should have excellent problem solving capability
