Associate Technical Program Manager
Location US-CA-San Francisco
The Associate Technical Program Manager is an individual contributor responsible for delivery of critical program/project(s) that address Esurance's corporate objectives. This person is an ideal combination of an engineer and project manager with a penchant for setting and achieving goals. The Associate Technical Program Manager will drive the program redefining the product catalog used by internal and external stakeholders. This master information related to all the insurance products involves the complexity of legal, compliance and technology. We are looking for a smart, motivated Associate Technical Program Manager to help us deliver critical features used by our customers and make that experience painlessly easy.
•Responsible for delivery of multiple project streams under a program.
•Facilitates and drives engagement, partnership, and collaboration across developers, quality engineers, product owners (technical and functional) and stakeholders to effectively implement technology solutions that meet or exceed rapidly changing needs of the business.
•Responsible for tracking and managing scope, schedule and risks for their teams / squad(s) / project(s)/ program.
•Leads in all aspects of project management including planning, data gathering, analysis, communication, status tracking, monitoring and follow-up.
•Responsible for work streams, including milestones, budget, action items and identifying and resolving issues.
•Ensures project work complies with agreed practices, policies and standard operating procedures.
•Analyzes program roadmaps/plans for conflicting tasks, timeline consolidation, and resource allocation.
•Follows through to closure on action items generated on formal and informal discussions.
•Recommends operational and process improvements for the performance and successful functioning.
•Performs special projects as requested.
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent education required.
•Excellent written and communication skills.
•Strong organizational and coordination skills along with multi-tasking capabilities to get things done in a fast paced environment
•Ability to operate as an individual contributor to get the job done; at the same time be able to act as a resource to colleagues and external stakeholders.
•Ability to identify, escalate and address risks and to provide suggestions throughout the program/project lifecycle.
•Self-motivated, flexible, proactive with ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy.
•Proven ability to adapt well and work with different teams within the organization.
•Experience working on teams following Agile (Scrum / Kanban) and Waterfall methodologies.
•Experience working in a full software development lifecycle as a developer / quality assurance / quality engineer.
•3+ years of experience on enterprise-level program as an Agile Project manager / IT Program manager.
•3+ years of overall software industry experience as Application Support Engineer, QA Engineers, Software Engineer or similar role
•Project Management certification (PMI-PMP) preferred.
•Agile certification (PMI-ACP, CSM, PSM) preferred.
