The EDW Architect is responsible for the design of client's Enterprise Data Warehouse platform, including planning for its long-term evolution.  This position defines core EDW data architecture, including ETL processes and logical/physical data models. This position collaborates with the enterprise Data Architects to insure that the EDW integrates seamlessly with client's enterprise application and SOA infrastructure, and that it supports the current and future reporting and analytical needs of the business.
The EDW Architect provides technical and architectural guidance for data-driven projects and for other team members, ensuring that new initiatives optimally support tactical and strategic data-driven management of LA Care.  This position collaborates with key business users to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery; and, provides expert-level technical knowledge and support to the EDW team.
This position effectively gathers and communicates business and technical requirements, translating them into appropriate architectures and designs.
Standard Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop logical and physical data models for the EDW, according to priorities and requirements articulated by the business.                                                                                                    
  • Collaborate with business and IT partners as needed to develop and pursue tactical and strategic goals. Translate business requirements into architectural blueprints and designs, and provide direct technical leadership and expertize in implementing solutions.                                                                      
  • Develop, maintain and communicate effective and appropriate designs, aligned with enterprise data and analytical needs. Ensure overall transparency and alignment with client's strategic goals. Define roadmap and strategies for integration, data, systems and analytics architectures.                              
  • Provide technical leadership in aligning technical capabilities and business strategies to meet enterprise goals and objectives. Collaborate with architects and designers to ensure seamless integration with client's SOA.                                                                                                               
  • Conduct technical reviews of EDW design and solutions. 
  • Facilitate business & technical buy-in to proposed solutions                                                                                                             
  • Mentor other team members, leading by example. Collaborate closely with other senior staff to foster continuous improvement and build a culture of excellence.                                                                                                        
  • Take an integral role in program/project planning and management activities, ensuring implementation of best practices and providing technical representation and feedback in these processes.               
Required Degree: Bachelor's Degree Major: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field      
Types of previous job experience required:
Bachelor's Degree:  6-8 years of experience in the design and building of enterprise data warehouses and progressive architectural experience.
 • Has an expert grasp of design patterns such as Inmon, Kimble, Data Vault and Data Lake.
• Possesses expertize and extensive experience in data analysis and mapping.
• Excellent understanding of data modeling, SQL and ETL.
• Experience in multiple database platforms, including SQL Server and Oracle.
• Experience working with end-users to gather requirements and build technical solutions from concept to implementation.
• Ability to facilitate meetings and delegate responsibilities.
• Fully understand enterprise data sources (file transfer, EDI, operational systems, external parties, cloud, etc.)
Master's Degree:  Minimum of 8  4 years of experience in the design and building of enterprise data warehouses and progressive architectural experience.
