Responsibilities:
 
Mechanical
Assemble component parts based on assembly drawings.  Independently fabricate, design, set-up and trouble shoot experimental or limited run assembly and / or test activities on complex hydraulic, electro-mechanical and limited electronic set-ups.  Projects are highly technical presenting new processes and changing requirements.  Interpret acceptance, qualification and R & D test procedures.
Perform engineering, development and quality tests, data acquisition reduction, post test disassembles and assist in analysis.  Demonstrate ability to operate lab equipment including: digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, flow measuring equipment and computerized data acquisition and control test systems where applicable.

All Specialties
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of fluid power systems, cryogenic fluids and environmental testing.  Demonstrated ability to proficiently utilize all lab and test equipment.  Maintain up-to-date qualification data and daily log books on each project.  Recommend new techniques, systems, procedures and preventative maintenance to improve overall efficiency.  Make recommendations for the purchase and/or use of equipment.  Interface with employees from other functional areas i.e. design engineering, process manufacturing, quality control and vendors.  Assist less experienced personnel.  Perform other related responsibilities.

Job requirements
Five years related experience, trade or military training, or good understanding and demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to read engineering drawings, sketches, schematics and procedures.  Basic PC and electronic console skills where applicable.  Ability to perform mathematical calculations.  Personal hand tools not required and must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills.  Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
Other skills:  prefer associates degree; demonstrated ability to independently fabricate, design, set up and trouble shoot test activities on complex hydraulic set ups is a requirement.  Ability to upgrade existing systems as new product is added to production.  Ability to build new equipment to print.  Maintain engineering lab and perform tests as required.
  • The personnel shall be experienced in Environmental, Structural, Electrical/EMI testing per DO-160 in a lab environment
  • The personnel shall also be expected to conduct Environmental, Structural, Electrical/EMI testing per MIL -STD-810 and MIL-STD-704 specifically for the Detachable Toilet Unit program in a lab environment.
  • The personnel provided shall have extensive technical writing experience writing, such as Design Verification Test Procedures/Reports, Qualification Test Reports; Root Cause Corrective Action Investigation (ie. 8D);
  • Change of Procedure (COP) and Notice of Deviations (NOD).
  • The personnel shall have ability to gather information, analyze it and effectively present the data in a clear and concise manner.
