[Job Description]

Job Responsibilities:
  • Establishes guidelines, best practices and standards related to designing and maintaining accessible websites.
  • Performs regular accessibility audits of institutional websites and web applications. Identifies and resolves accessibility barriers.
  • Works closely with application development team and provide guidance on accessibility. Identifies, implements and oversees tools for monitoring website accessibility
  • Review and provide feedback on new interface design
  • Develops training materials for a wide variety of audiences, including end-users, web designers, developers and content providers. Provides training on using accessibility monitoring software and assists in identifying strategies.
  • Help maintaining organization's Web accessibility website
  • Creates a variety of accessibility-related reports and presentations as needed
  • Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned
Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
  • 10+ years of working experience with last 4 years in WCAG 2.0
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with web technologies (HTML 5.0 /CSS 3.0, JavaScript, Xml, and Web content management systems)
  • Exposure to multi-platforms, and cross-browser testing. Must be knowledgeable of trends for new browser versions, mobile devices and/or other digital applications.
  • Exposure to rich media within web applications (audio, video, responsive design validation)
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with assistive technologies (JAWS, CCA, NVDA)
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards and guidelines
  • Experience with accessibility audit and quality assurance tools and processes
  • Familiarity with scripting languages desirable (PHP, JS)
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and independently lead projects to completion
  • Knowledge of disability law including but not limited to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), 508 Compliance
