Position Title: Apps Dev Technical Specialist
Location: Tampa, FL 33605, Jersey City, NJ 07087
Salary: Market Rate
Onsite position: Fulltime/permanent W2 only
Visa: GC or USC or GC EAD/No C2C

Java/J2EE Technologies, including (Spring, Spring Batch, Hibernate, EJB, Web Services)
  • Database (Oracle) fundamentals including modeling/normalization (and supporting tools) and experience working with stored procedures
  • Application Servers (WebSphere) is a MUST
  • Java Transaction API (JTA) is a MUST
  • UNIX/Linux, including shell-scripting
  • Practical experience with at least one of the NoSQL / NewSQL technologies (MongoDB, CouchDB, NuoDB etc) would be beneficial
  • Strong knowledge on administration and support of Kafka (primary), Storm, MongoDB, Spark, Impala (secondary) installations
  • Strong knowledge on build (Ant/Maven), continuous integration (Jenkins), code quality analysis (SonarQube) and unit and integration testing (JUnit)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understanding the business area (Banking and Capital Markets) and user requirements
  • Performing design, coding and Release Management
  • Performing unit, integration and regression testing
  • Performing Production Support
  • Producing documentation based on the company's standards
  • Evaluation and Recommendation for new technologies and updating versions of the existing ones
  • Design reusable frameworks
  • Environment management and layout design
  • Continuous Integration
  • Capacity planning of servers, should have knowledge of Websphere with Oracle.
  • Define code standards and monitor code quality
  • Achieve continuous improvements on all aspects of work - including areas outside direct accountability/responsibility
  • Coordinate with dependent shared service teams (including infrastructure support, DBAs, SAs, Change Management, etc.)
  • Establish effective working relationships with client representatives
  • Perform peer reviews of various artifacts (design, code, documentation, etc)
  • Appropriately apply architecture & design patterns in design and code
  • Comply with mandated policies and procedures
  • Facilitate daily team meetings
  • Achieve extensibility, reliability, and reusability in design and code
  • Job Skills:
  • Experience in software development
  • 8+ years hands-on experience in the Java/J2EE Technologies
  • Working experience at least in Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) project is required, experience working in an Agile environment is preferred
  • Good Communication, Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Experience in a high volume transaction processing environment including solving non-trivial performance-related problems
  • Ability to identify database bottlenecks and fine tune SQL queries and stored procedures to maximize performance
  • Knowledge of Capital markets industry and products is essential
  • Understanding of Trade-Life-Cycle is a MUST
  • Knowledge of Client applications is a plus
  • Subject matter expertise in Stock Record and position keeping is a plus
