Job Summary: The Scrum Master will facilitate or guide a software development team on how to use Agile/Scrum concepts, values, practices, and principles focusing on improving team effectiveness. The role will ensure efficient means and process are conducted for the implementation of next generation architectures and integration of advanced sensor suites into ground combat development vehicles and test environments through agile project management methodologies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •Facilitate Agile Meetings: oOrganize and facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives. oEnsure meetings are efficient and focused on delivering results. oEncourage active participation and adherence to Agile principles. •Identify and Mitigate Barriers: oEnsure the team has access to tools, resources and information needed for success. oCollaborate with leadership to refine agile processes and reduce friction in workflows. oDetect and escalate blockers that may impact sprint progress. •Stakeholder and Cross-Team Alignment: oWork closely with Product Owners, engineering leadership and stakeholders to align priorities. oFacilitate backlog refinement and ensure the backlog is effectively populated with well-defined, prioritized work items. oEnsure work priorities are understood across the team to drive progress in high-value areas. •Coaching and Mentorship: oProvide coaching to the development team on agile methodologies. oPromote a culture of continuous improvement and self-motivation. •Tracking Team Progress and Metrics: oEnsure accurate logging of work by the development team. oMonitor and Analyze team velocity and burndown charts. oUse data to identify trends and drive continuous improvements. oEnsure that tasks are well-tracked, aligned with sprint goals, and progressing efficiently. •Align Delivery Expectations and Communicate Progress oEngage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on delivery expectations. oProvide regular progress updates to leadership, customers, and stakeholders. oIdentify and communicate potential risks that may impact delivery timelines. Education and Experience (required): •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline. •Minimum 2 years of experience as a Scrum Master. •Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification •U.S. Citizen Education and Experience (preferred): •Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline. •Experience working with the Department of Defense (DoD) or in the defense industry. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (required): •Advanced knowledge of Scrum, agile and other traditional project management principles, and practices •Knowledge of both Scrum and agile software development. •Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical data verbally. •Ability to provide robust solutions to complex problems in a timely and cost-effective manner.
