Job Description
Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Data Engineer with expertise in DBT, Snowflake, and Healthy Planet (Epic) to join our remote team. This role is critical to supporting both our legacy data systems and the development of a new, modern data architecture.
We recently completed a migration from on-premise systems to Snowflake, and are now focusing on enhancing core data components—especially around provider and member data—and integrating them into broader systems, including Epic and Milliman Insights. The initiative includes rebuilding foundational data structures while maintaining continuity in existing operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data pipelines using DBT, Snowflake, and Azure Data Factory
- Build new foundational data objects centered on provider and member data
- Support both legacy operations and greenfield projects in a hybrid data environment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement scalable data solutions
- Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term data strategy
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance in a high-impact healthcare environment
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong expertise in DBT (Data Build Tool) for data transformation workflows
- Advanced proficiency with Snowflake cloud data warehouse
- Experience with Azure Data Factory for data ingestion and orchestration
- Background in healthcare data, particularly the Healthy Planet module within Epic
- Ability to work at an architectural level—designing, planning, and executing scalable data solutions
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
- Experience working with Milliman Insights or other third-party analytics vendors
- Familiarity with data governance and healthcare compliance standards
- Prior experience supporting large-scale healthcare data migrations or rebuilds
