Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical (MS)
Location: Aiken, SC, USA (302 University Parkway, Aiken, SC 29801)
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3 x 12-hour Night Shifts
Residency requirement: Must reside at least 100 miles away

Job Summary:

• We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical/Surgical (MS) team in Aiken, SC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in accordance with established medical protocols and hospital policies. This role requires a strong background in inpatient nursing, telemetry, and stroke or orthopedic care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver compassionate, competent, and efficient patient care, ensuring adherence to regulatory and institutional guidelines.
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, including a comprehensive review of systems, and document findings accurately.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed.
• Monitor patient progress and collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and patient record management.
• Respond to emergencies and provide advanced life support interventions as required.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge planning.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to hospital policies and infection control standards.
• Participate in crisis prevention and intervention when necessary.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Licensure: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the applicable state/district (Required).

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient nursing experience (Required).
• At least 6 months of travel nurse experience (Required).
• Telemetry experience (Required).
• Stroke or Orthopedic care experience (Required).

Certifications:

• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification (Required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (Required).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification (Required).
• Crisis Prevention Institute's Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) with Advanced Physical Skills Training (Required).

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program (Required).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (Highly Desired).

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency with Cerner EMR (Required).
