Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to provide exceptional clinical, technical, and administrative support to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, organizational abilities, and a patient-focused attitude.

Key Responsibilities

    • Perform EKGs, PFTs, lab testing, and audiometry as ordered by the physician.
    • Admit patients to exam rooms and document vital signs, medical history, medication history, allergy history, height, and weight as indicated.
    • Perform quality control checks and adhere to laboratory procedures in compliance with CLIA regulations.
    • Ensure proper documentation for patient treatment, telephone communications, and lab accession logs.
    • Maintain universal precautions and follow OSHA regulations at all times.
    • Greet patients and visitors promptly and courteously.
    • Register and transact patients accurately using the current computer system.
    • Update patient information, including medical insurance coverage and eligibility.
    • Schedule patient appointments and ensure completion of referrals.
    • Maintain accurate records, including daily ledger sheets, medical reports, and lab results.
    • Keep examination rooms clean, orderly, and well-stocked with supplies.
    • Check vendor supplies against packing slips and organize inventory.
    • Notify patients of test results following physician review and instructions.
    • Provide discharge instructions and process superbills as per procedure.
    • Address patient emergencies and relay them to the physician.
    • Demonstrate professionalism and respect when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.
    • Ensure a courteous and dignified experience for all patients and their families.

Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • BLS Certification required.
    • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited program is preferred.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or equivalent.
    • Excellent phone manners, flexibility, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in computer data entry and managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
