Title: Material Handler
Location: 595 Anglum Drive Hazelwood MO 63042
Duration: 6+months
Hours: 8:00am - 4:30 pm Some overtime.
Primary Purpose and Overall Objective of the Job:
Material Handlers are required to accurately prepare orders for shipment, cycle count inventory, locate material quickly and efficiently, assist in receiving material, and other general warehousing functions.
Main Accountabilities:
- Assure quality, accuracy, and compliance with GMP's in shipping, receiving, and the warehouse operation, while maintaining a timely throughput of operations
- Move material to storage areas with proper equipment, and efficiently stack and store the material in the appropriate area
- Pick, pack, and manifest orders for shipment for internal and external customers
- Check and/or verify freight and shipments for accuracy and/or damage
- Monitors warehouse space requirements and assist with maintaining proper warehouse utilization
- Other responsibilities include receiving, data entry, cycle counting, and other duties as required
- Work on a small, fast paced, and dynamic team
Studies and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- General warehouse knowledge, including shipping and/or receiving experience.
- Truck driving experience preferred.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively with manager and others.
- Ability to use material handling equipment such as a floor jack, hand truck, and order picker.
- Forklift experience a must.
- Computer knowledge. Ability to utilize Microsoft Outlook and perform light data entry in
Microsoft Excel
- Good close vision and hand dexterity for computer
- SAP experience is a plus.
- Must be able to follow directions and work well independently for periods at a time with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work on ladders and on feet for long periods of time.
- Requires mental alertness and attention to detail.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
