Position Description:
*ITI/RRS 2000+ Linux/AIX servers in globally 24x7 . applying patches, installing software, managing file systems, monitoring Unix server performance . troubleshooting alerts from monitoring system for system error conditions (server down, disk full, CPU busy, network traffic, memory constrain etc.) . servicing tickets submitted by developers and application support teams. Working in a large Unix server support team (more than 10 admins) with oncall rotation. Strong troubleshooting skill is required
Skills Required:
Troubleshooting of at least 2 Unix operating systems (AIX, Linux preferred . SuSE, Redhat, Ubuntu ) automating tasks using a scripting language (bash shell, ksh, perl etc) . analyzing performance issues . experience with at least 2 Volume Managers (Veritas, HP LVM, IBM LVM, SUSE LVM, Sun SDS) . supporting a network of at least 100 servers with 24x7 support
Experience Preferred:
Prefer to have experience in Shell scripting (Bash or Ksh), perl, Java, Javascript
Experience in Jenkins, GitHub, Chef, Habitat, Container, Docker a plus Data Center server support experience (change control; request and incident ticketing systems; coordinating with other support groups) . SAN or NAS storage experience (SVC, MetroMirror, EMC BCV, SRDF; Powerpath; DMP)
Experience defining technical standards for an organization .
Web application and server support . customer interface experience (managing expectations; negotiating compromise solutions) . experience managing the escalation of cross-functional problems with multiple vendors
leadership experience (of a team or of an implementation project) Requires to be on-call (24x7) one week every four weeks.
Shift is 12:00-8:30pm M-F. Able to lead the migrations, handle outages, identifying root cause and able to write issue summary and explain to both technical and non-technical users
Education Required:
Bachelor Degree in Technology or Science
