Job Title: MRI Technologist

Shift: Day Shift (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to operate specialized imaging equipment and perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging procedures. The ideal candidate will apply sound technical judgment to ensure diagnostic accuracy while prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols
- Position patients and coils appropriately to obtain optimal imaging results
- Educate patients on procedures, expectations, and safety guidelines
- Review patient safety questionnaires prior to MRI scans
- Ensure all images are accurately labeled and transmitted to PACS in a timely manner
- Evaluate images for technical quality and diagnostic acceptability
- Maintain accurate documentation in Radiology Information System (IDX)
- Schedule exams and record patient tracking information as required
- Ensure cleanliness and readiness of MRI equipment and work areas
- Monitor inventory of supplies and maintain adequate stock levels
- Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly
- Assist physicians during procedures when required
- Follow strict MRI safety protocols to prevent exposure to ferromagnetic materials
- Adhere to infection control and safety policies
- Perform basic clerical duties when necessary
- Participate in training sessions and professional development activities
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong knowledge of MRI physics, cross-sectional anatomy, and physiology
- Excellent technical and problem-solving skills
- Minimum 2 years of MRI experience preferred
Education:
- Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT accredited Radiologic Technology program
Certifications & Licensure (Required):
- Active New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology
- ARRT (MRI) Certification
- BCLS Certification
