Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist
Location: Grand Blanc, MI 48439
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Full-Time | Weekdays
Shift: Days (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM) with one variable weekday off
On-Call: Required (weeknights and one weekend per month)
Key Responsibilities
-
Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac, vascular, and EP procedures
-
Scrub and monitor procedures including heart catheterizations, PCI, peripheral vascular, structural heart, and EP cases
-
Recognize and interpret ECG waveforms, arrhythmias, and hemodynamic changes, including life-threatening conditions
-
Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately using ACLS protocols
-
Identify coronary anatomy and pressure waveforms; calculate basic hemodynamic measurements
-
Document catheterization events and procedural data accurately in electronic systems
-
Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and sterile fields; ensure appropriate supplies are available

Perform cardiac output calculations, O2 saturations, ACT testing, and related measurements
-
Assist with thrombolytic therapy and extraction devices (AngioJet, Rotablator, laser revascularization)

Support advanced imaging technologies such as intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and Doppler velocimetry
-
Participate in staff orientation, training, special projects, and committee activities as assigned
-
Adhere to medical ethics, patient confidentiality, and facility policies at all times
Required Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and renal physiology and pathology

Demonstrated expertise in ECG interpretation and cardiac pharmacology

Ability to function effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced environments

Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills

Self-directed, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning

Ability to scrub in a sterile environment for extended periods

Physical ability to wear lead aprons (up to 5 lbs) and assist with patient positioning and transport
Education & Certifications
-
High School Diploma or GED required
-
Graduate of an accredited Allied Health program, such as:
-
One of the following required:
-
BLS required
-
ACLS required (or within 6 months of hire)
Experience Requirements
-
Minimum 1–2 years of Cath Lab or EP Lab experience
-
Must be able to scrub for:
-
Diagnostic and interventional heart caths
-
Peripheral vascular procedures
-
Structural heart procedures
-
Electrophysiology cases
-
Experience with Merge Hemo documentation system preferred
On-Call Requirements
-
4 weeknights per month (5:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
-
1 weekend per month (Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 6:30 AM)
-
No additional weekend commitment outside of on-call coverage
