Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Pediatrics
Location: Charleston, SC
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift – 3x12-Hour (19:00 – 07:30)
Job Responsibilities
-
Provide comprehensive respiratory care to neonatal, infant, pediatric, and adolescent patients
-
Deliver respiratory therapy services in NICU, Pediatric Critical Care, and general pediatric units
-
Assist with airway management, including intubation assistance, extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
-
Manage and monitor patients on mechanical ventilation, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
-
Perform and interpret arterial and capillary blood gases
-
Administer respiratory medications via nebulizers, MDIs, aerosol masks, and tracheostomy delivery systems
-
Support high-risk deliveries and neonatal respiratory care as needed
-
Assist with emergency response and trauma situations in pediatric settings

Document patient care accurately and timely using Epic or other charting systems

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Float within scope of practice to meet unit or facility needs when required
Required Skills & Experience
-
Minimum 2–3 years of respiratory therapy experience, including pediatric, neonatal, and infant care
-
Experience in NICU, pediatric critical care, or similar pediatric settings
-
Strong knowledge of ventilator management, airway devices, and pulmonary hygiene
-
Experience with bronchoscopy, airway management, extubation, and suctioning preferred
-
Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend

First-time travel RRTs accepted
Required Certifications & Licensure
-
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Required

State Respiratory Therapy License (or SC RCP if South Carolina) – Required

BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
-
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required
-
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required
