Job Description:
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with strong experience in network configuration, Ansible playbooks, and the ability to troubleshoot network issues effectively. The ideal candidate should also have excellent documentation skills.
Must-Have Skills
  • Strong network engineering expertise across Cisco, Arista, and Juniper switches (configuration, validation, troubleshooting).
  • Hands-on experience with core fabric networking in large-scale service provider or enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with NetBox or other inventory management systems.
  • Previous Telecom industry experience highly preferred.
  • Exposure to Ansible automation and ability to work with playbook-driven provisioning.
  • Knowledge of network validation processes (pre/post checks, compliance, regression testing).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with routing, switching, VLANs, VXLANs, BGP, OSPF, and related protocols.
  • Ability to collaborate with automation teams and translate operational requirements into automation workflows.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with DC Track or other DCIM tools.
  • Familiarity with Python scripting or the ability to read/debug automation outputs.
  • Exposure to automation frameworks and CI/CD concepts.
  • Prior experience with service providers, cable operators, or data center environments.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Validate and test network configurations generated by automation frameworks.
  • Provide operational expertise on Cisco, Arista, and Juniper switches within Comcast's core fabric.
  • Map existing device states and configurations to NetBox inventory for accuracy and reconciliation.
  • Assist with provisioning workflows and ensure successful end-to-end integration.
  • Support the development and validation of Ansible playbooks and automation outputs.
  • Troubleshoot issues across multi-vendor environments, ensuring reliability and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Automation Engineer to scale automation across the network.
