Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join a cross-functional team at the forefront of AI innovation in healthcare. This is a fully remote contract position supporting the client, offering a unique opportunity to apply data science expertise in the domains of healthcare, AI ethics, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate across legal, compliance, and AI development teams on topics including Generative AI and traditional ML.
  • Document findings, generate reports, and communicate results clearly to stakeholders.
  • Design and develop guidance materials for responsible and ethical use of AI technologies.
  • Write and maintain Python scripts for automating AI testing and analyzing outputs.
  • Identify and analyze vulnerabilities in AI systems related to PII/PHI exposure.
  • Manage test datasets and contribute to the evolution of testing methodologies.
  • Stay updated on AI/ML research trends and apply relevant insights to ongoing projects.
  • Mentor junior staff and promote a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in designing and conducting Red Team testing scenarios for conversational AI applications.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience in computer science, applied mathematics, applied statistics, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with the ML lifecycle (development, deployment, and maintenance).
  • 3+ years working with advanced NLP models and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as Scikit-learn, Pandas, and Numpy.
  • Strong understanding of ethical AI principles and model fairness.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with healthcare systems, including claims processing, call centers, or claims-based research.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated collaboration across product, data science, and business teams.
  • Hands-on experience with large language models and conversational AI.
  • Knowledge of prompt engineering and adversarial testing practices.
  • Awareness of regulatory compliance frameworks specific to AI in healthcare.
  • Basic understanding of information security and privacy principles.
