Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join a cross-functional team at the forefront of AI innovation in healthcare. This is a fully remote contract position supporting the client, offering a unique opportunity to apply data science expertise in the domains of healthcare, AI ethics, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate across legal, compliance, and AI development teams on topics including Generative AI and traditional ML.
- Document findings, generate reports, and communicate results clearly to stakeholders.
- Design and develop guidance materials for responsible and ethical use of AI technologies.
- Write and maintain Python scripts for automating AI testing and analyzing outputs.
- Identify and analyze vulnerabilities in AI systems related to PII/PHI exposure.
- Manage test datasets and contribute to the evolution of testing methodologies.
- Stay updated on AI/ML research trends and apply relevant insights to ongoing projects.
- Mentor junior staff and promote a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Assist in designing and conducting Red Team testing scenarios for conversational AI applications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience in computer science, applied mathematics, applied statistics, or related fields.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with the ML lifecycle (development, deployment, and maintenance).
- 3+ years working with advanced NLP models and methodologies.
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as Scikit-learn, Pandas, and Numpy.
- Strong understanding of ethical AI principles and model fairness.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with healthcare systems, including claims processing, call centers, or claims-based research.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Demonstrated collaboration across product, data science, and business teams.
- Hands-on experience with large language models and conversational AI.
- Knowledge of prompt engineering and adversarial testing practices.
- Awareness of regulatory compliance frameworks specific to AI in healthcare.
- Basic understanding of information security and privacy principles.
