Job Description
Verification test engineer, driving robustness of software, firmware, and algorithms.
Primary Duties:
1. Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for medical device software, firmware, and algorithms based on product requirements and specifications
2. Design and implement automated tests and frameworks for regression testing and continuous integration
3. Perform manual testing of new features and interfaces
4. Document and track defects, analyze root causes, and follow up on fixes
5. Develop and execute exploratory tests to identify defects and potential risks
6. Create and maintain test data to be used for testing procedures
7. Evaluate product quality and reliability by analyzing test results
8. Provide timely feedback to developers and project managers on product quality, defects, risks, and potential improvements
Stay up-to-date with medical device testing standards, methodologies, tools, and industry best practices
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or another related field preferred.
- Five or more years of experience in testing software and firmware Embedded Systems or Firmware Test
- Fluency in Python and proficiency with C/C#/SQL
- Experience creating test benches in Python or other scripting languages (Qt a plus)
- Proven track record authoring requirements, developing test protocols, and implementing test automation
- Experience with software and firmware development environments and hardware debuggers
- Experience with source control and defect tracking systems (GitHub, Jira, etc.)
- Experience and efficiency with test and measurement equipment (e.g. Oscilloscope)
- Experience testing firmware, APIs, databases, and platform integrations
- Experience with test automation frameworks like Selenium, Appium, UFT, etc.
- Knowledge of test management tools like Zephyr, TestRail, , etc.
- Knowledge of virtualization/containerization tools like Docker, is a plus
- Knowledge of AWS tools like S3 and EC2, is a plus
- Able to read electronic schematics and datasheets
- Authorized to work in the US and full fluency of the English language is a must.
- Understanding of regulatory standards for medical device software testing (IEC 62304, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
