Job Description:
Summary:
The main function of a non-IT program manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as engineering, research and development, financial systems and product roll-out, etc. or any other non-IT based project.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
  • Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to clients.
  • May recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
  • Analyze technology, resource needs and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.

Skills:
  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time.
  • Basic knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Basic knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.
  • Basic knowledge of computer software, such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio etc.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • PMI or PMP certification preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience required.

Typical Day in the Role
  • Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is to work on the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador program. They recruit onboard university students globally to be part of a community. They provide training and skills to these students, who then teach their peers about Microsoft products and services.
  • Key projects: This role will contribute to managing processes within the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador program. This includes ensuring operational processes are executed properly, managing changes in the program, such as updates to benefits for ambassadors, communicating strategy changes effectively, updating internal and community documentation, collaborating with the operations team to support new processes, etc.
  • Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 50% meetings, 50% heads down.

  • Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain experience with Power Platform, including Power BI and Power Automate and Azure Dev Ops. Also, the ideal resume would show signs of how they've collaborated with teams in previous roles as this role is highly collaborative.
  • Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on quality of work, meeting deadlines, and how collaborative they are.
